TLH is a trading strategy that seeks to sell assets held at a loss to offset capital gains. To avoid a wash sale, which would nullify the benefit of the harvested loss, and to maintain the allocation as close to the model as possible, Vicus Capital’s TLH overlay utilizes a series of ETFs as replacements to be held for the duration of the wash sale period and then sold to repurchase the original security.
